The Zeta Eta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi at San Jose State University was colonized on September 23rd, 1991 and was given charter on March 11th, 1995. It remains to this day to be one of the oldest and most prominent Great Fraternities in the Greek community striving for the advancement and mutual brotherhood for its members

The Zeta Eta Chapter receives no. 1 in grades out of the IFC, with a 2.944 GPA; the chapter's highest in it's history.

Beta's of Alpha Phi chapter at Virginia Tech are accounted for and all are okay after the school shooting incident that left 33 dead and twenty injured at Virginia Polytechnic University; marking the US's worst shooting rampage.
